IMTEC-TG-Antibodies is an indirect solid-phase enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) for the quantitative measurement of IgG class autoantibodies against thyroglobulin in human serum. The assay is intended for in vitro diagnostic use only as an aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune thyroid diseases.

Autoantibodies to thyroid antigens play an important role in the pathogenesis, diagnostics and differential diagnostics of autoimmune thyroid diseases. These antibodies can be detected with high titres in almost all patients with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. Low titres are common in patients with other thyroid diseases.
